The performance of the presentation level plays a key role in the augmentation of the real world with virtual information – the central idea of Augmented Reality. The AR system has to be able to react to movements within less then 33ms. Moreover, the superposition of virtual objects has to take place with a high degree of precision and an image frequency of more than 25 Hz.

The hardware of the presentation module consists of two parts: on one side, an “Optical see-through Display”, developed for lifeClipper2, using two USB-web cameras and a high resolution “Head Mounted Display”; on the other side, a conventional notebook with high graphics performance.
